Interreg VI–A NEXT Romania – Republic of Moldova Programme 2021 – 2027
The project "Gates for the sustainable integration of the culture of the Middle Prut Valley into European tourist routes”/ROMD00219 aims to capitalize on the common cultural heritage on both banks of the Prut River and integrate it into European tourist circuits, contributing to the sustainable development of the Ungheni/Moldova - Iași/Romania cross-border region.
Overall objective The project's objective is to improve the capacity for the conservation and promotion of the common tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Middle Prut Valley area through the rehabilitation and modernization of two urban museums, through the development of a common strategy for the tourist exploitation of this rich cultural heritage, together with the implementation of collaborative events designed for both museum staff and the general public.
The specific objectives of the Project are:
1. Developing a comprehensive framework for promoting the cultural heritage of the Middle Prut Valley, outlined by formulating a strategy for the sustainable integration of this cultural wealth into European tourist circuits and 12 cross-border events until the project is completed.
2. Improvement and modernization of two cultural sites located on both banks of the Prut River.
3. Increasing awareness and strengthening the resonance of the Prut Valley Culture project through the strategic use of at least three media channels until the end of the project by at least 10% compared to the beginning of the project.
