Ungheni Tourist Information Center
Created in 2023, within the project "Sustainable actions for economic growth through tourism", funded by the European Union through the Mayors' Facility for Economic Growth. The center is a strategic building, located in the city center, in order to be accessible even to a first-time tourist. The institution provides local, regional and national promotional materials to tourists.
Mission
The Ungheni Tourist Information Center aims to promote the tourist potential of the Ungheni region as a historical, architectural and cultural value, nationally and internationally, in order to increase its attractiveness as a tourist destination and the number of tourists in the area.
Vision
The Ungheni Tourist Information Center aims to increase the number of tourists informed about local culture and touristic possibilities depending on the theme, but also to increase the visibility of the municipality as a tourist location. Being a multicultural city, the center offers a micro introduction to the artistic soul of local traditional craftsmen.
Activities and services
Highlighting the potential of the area and increasing visibility for already known objectives;
Establishing an innovative model adapted to modern technologies in terms of online promotion through the website, social media pages and mobile applications;
Organizing and hosting exhibitions of folk craftsmen from the region and local products, Ungheni brand;
Informing domestic and foreign tourists about the tourist offer and local, regional or national tourist attractions;
Advice on the choice of various local (authentic, original, based on local specifics), regional and national tourist products;
Organization of local and regional tourism exhibitions and general internal and external marketing activities with a role in increasing local and regional tourist circulation;
Infrastructure
The building is located within the perimeter of the "Grigore Vieru" square in the center of Ungheni, being accessible to anyone, including people with disabilities. The center has a main hall where the main symbols of the region are presented, as well as a small exhibition of the works of folk craftsmen.
Events and products:
- The institution has several routes and tourist packages for any age category, desires and type of tourist, 7 in number, they touch on all the details necessary to know the true image of Ungheni. Being a public entity, it does not collect fees, so any service is completely free.
