SULTAN Grigore, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova
The work captures the inner drama of the creator faced with the relentless time. His body, furrowed by fatigue and loneliness, bears the imprint of the struggle between inspiration and exhaustion. The body, as if exhausted, suggests the fragility of man, but also the unseen force of the word, which remains beyond him. The author wants to combine in this pose the contrast between the ephemerality of life and the permanence of creation, leaving the viewer with the feeling that, although time defeats man, his poetry remains eternal.
Therefore, Poet is a sculpture-meditation on the creator who carries his work as an inner weight. The compact volume of travertine, gathered in itself and marked by a central recess, suggests the inner space in which the word is born and consumed. The bent and silent form conveys fatigue, loneliness and concentration, without pathos. The work confronts the fragility of man and the permanence of creation: time passes over the body, but leaves behind what is not lost - poetry.
