Years 1942-1944. Wood, oak.

Dănuțeni neighborhood, Ungheni city, "Saint Nicholas" church.

"Traditional Wood Art" Collection, Ungheni Museum of History and Ethnography.

Troița was built as a monument dedicated to the Romanian soldiers who fought in World War II, 1941-1944.

The monument is carved in oak wood, in the traditional Romanian style. In the center, it has the words inscribed: "To the fallen heroes in the Holy War: 1941 - 194..." In the upper part of the trident, in a rhombus, is framed the image of God the Father, painted. The piece is primarily a cult object. It is also a true traditional art object through the style and manner of its creation and, finally, the most significant value, it has the quality of an authentic historical document. The trident was probably made at the request of the "Cultul Eroilor" society, existing in the locality at that time, which had the purpose of cultivating the memory of the fallen soldiers in World War II. The piece is among the few copies that have been preserved in the Romanian space, which gives it uniqueness and value as a relevant document of the era.
