To the star... of the Romanian soul

The artist proposes a symbolic image of the being of the Romanian nation and the idea of Greater Romania, built from recognizable signs and placed as if on an axis of faith and memory.

At the center of the composition is a vertical volume, like a gate or a stone altar, inside which rounded shapes and a cross are distinguished: a sign of spirituality, sacrifice and continuity. At the base, a medallion with the tricolor fixes the national identity and suggests the common root from which the symbolic construction of the work starts.

Above, the sculptor places a stylized sun, treated as a fan of rays. It functions as a protective “star”: it illuminates, warms and elevates, referring to the idea of hope and life. In this way, the monument connects the earth to the sky, the past to the future—a vertical of identity in which faith, memory and belonging meet in a single form.

The ensemble, made of sandstone, preserves the roughness of the material as a metaphor for resistance: a message about permanence, about what remains over time, and about the light that can bring together a common destiny.
