1984. Custom work. Concrete

Entrance to the Canning Factory courtyard, Crestiuc Street

The work, from the Soviet era, represents two seated young figures, treated realistically and monumentally, in a composition that emphasizes solidarity and the "new man". The man-woman combination, their calm posture and closeness suggest the unity of the community and the idea of teamwork - either in a rural key (peasants, the fruits of the earth, baskets) or in an industrial key (workers, the dignity of work). The presence of elements that refer to the harvest/abundance supports the propaganda reading of the time: work as a source of prosperity, and the collective as a guarantee of the future. As a type of public message, the sculpture does not depict an individual portrait, but offers a model: harmony between generations and genders, stability, trust and belonging to a common social order.
