Mama

The central alley of the Palace of Culture

The work speaks silently about care, patience, and the light that remains.

The sculptor himself says that: "Mama is a tribute to all the mothers of the world, a stone interpretation of longing and endless love. The subject was born from Eminescu's verses - O, sweet mother, mother -, a poem that, whenever I read it, takes me back to my mother's face. I remember how my mother waited for me with a heart full of longing, with open arms, on the threshold of my parents' house. In that look and in that smile was the shelter of my soul, the eternal warmth, the light that never sets"
