Caryatid – the supporting woman. In the classical tradition, caryatids are female figures that carry the weight of architecture. In our case, the form is essentialized: it is not the face that matters, but the act of supporting.

The woman becomes a structure. The figure is tall, thin, stable. The weight above does not crush her, but confirms her strength. To support is not a punishment, a burden, but an assumed responsibility.

The wood, with visible veins and cuts, introduces the idea of life and time. The caryatid is not an inert pillar; it is a body that has grown, endured, remained. The suggestion of two fused anthropomorphic volumes indicates solidarity: no one supports the world alone.

Strength arises through union. Caryatids is a meditation on the discreet force of support. It does not dominate. It holds. And, by supporting, it gives meaning to space, to human life in general.
