Sleepy on the cloud

The work is one of the many variations created by the author in recent years. The work, contrary to the particularly hard material in which it is sculpted, reveals through form, lines and content, tenderness, peace, gentleness, femininity, mystery, immersion in a dream. 

The author proposes an image of femininity withdrawn from the world, placed in a dreamlike state. The title – Sleepy on the cloud – moves the body from the realistic plane into a suspended space: it is no longer a body in the landscape, but a body that has become nor, meaning light, protective, changeable matter.

The large volume underneath functions as the cloud: an imaginary soft support, a dream bedThe figure almost merged with the stone mass reinforces the idea of sinking into sleep.

The cloud is a motif of passage: it forms and disintegrates. The placement of the sleepy figure "on the cloud" suggests the fragility of the moment (sleep is temporary), a state of suspension between the real and the imaginary. 

At the same time, the "cloud" is also shelter: a pillow, a place where anxiety does not penetrate.
