The exhibition "Sustainable Development: Historical Perspective in the Middle Prut Valley Area", organized in Iași on October 3, 2025, highlighted the connection between cultural heritage, local history and the principles of sustainable development in the cross-border region of the Middle Prut Valley. The event took place within the framework of the European project "Gates for the sustainable integration of the culture of the Middle Prut Valley in European tourist routes" (ROMD00219) and aimed to promote the common identity of the communities on both banks of the Prut River, as a resource for a sustainable future.

The exhibition, hosted by the "Regina Maria" Municipal Museum of Iași, in partnership with the City Hall of Iași and the City Hall of Ungheni, brought together archival documents, artifacts and decorative art objects that illustrate the social, economic and cultural evolution of the region. The central concept emphasized responsible resource management, environmental protection and heritage conservation, demonstrating the role of local history and traditions in supporting sustainable development and cultural tourism.
The event was an important opportunity for cultural dialogue and cross-border cooperation, bringing together representatives of public institutions, the cultural and academic environment, as well as the general public. Through its educational and promotional impact, the exhibition contributed to increasing the visibility of the Middle Prut Valley and its integration into European tourist routes, strengthening the collaboration between Romania and the Republic of Moldova and reaffirming the value of the common cultural heritage.
