October 12, 2026

On October 12, 2026, in Iași, the event took place - Young voices, ancient echoes: revealing the cultural playground of the Middle Prut Valley, carried out within the project "Gates for the sustainable integration of the culture of the Middle Prut Valley in European tourist routes" (ROMD00219), implemented by the Ungheni City Hall, in partnership with the Iași City Hall, within the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania–Republic of Moldova 2021–2027 Program.

Two classes of children from the "Titu Maiorescu" and "Carmen Sylva" Junior High Schools in Iași were invited to participate in this interactive event, the event offering a captivating and educational experience dedicated to children, combining the discovery of cultural heritage with recreational and team activities.

Thus, among the activities carried out were the following:

  • Guided tour and exploration: The children participated in a "Treasure Map" type activity, discovering the museum's permanent exhibitions, as well as a special collection of old toys and games.
  • Interactive and dynamic games: The program included traditional and movement games held in the museum space and in its courtyard, such as "Hopa sus", "Blind Baba" and exploration workshops ("Little Explorers").
  • Awarding of participants: At the end of the activities, all children were rewarded with diplomas and reward bags, and the top 3 most active in the tests received special gifts.

By organizing this event, we wanted to show children the charm of old games and toys, giving them the opportunity to rediscover old traditions, to interact in a creative way and to connect to the cultural heritage of the Middle Prut Valley region through play and interactive learning.
